There are several courses available full-time and part time and we also offer work-based learning. Please refer to the Course Details pages of this website, and also the links to Furness College and Barrow 6th Form College websites. (Clicking on the logos at the bottom of each page will take you to each of these organisation’s websites)
You can drop in and browse through our large selection of reference books and journals. If you are a member of Furness College, all the books in the SCLRS are available for loan at the College library. We also have access to and information about VALNOW (University of Central Lancashire on-line library) Also there is a list of specialist Social Care books stored in Carlisle Public Library, which are available to order through Barrow Public Library.
Yes. These are listed on the Useful Links pages. We have full internet access in the Learning Resource, so you will be able to undertake full searches for research purposes on the internet. A computer can be reserved for you if you are an external visitor, and you would like to come to the Service and use the resources and Quiet Area. No. Anyone undertaking any form of qualification in Health and Social Care can come along and use our facilities.
